The PCSP Foundation was incorporated in February 2018 as IRS 501 (c)(3) which allows donor contributions to be deducted from the donor's income for federal income tax purposes. The PCSP Foundation received State of California certification to solicit donations in May 2019. In March 2020 the IRS approved the PCSP Foundation for Federal recognition as a 501(c)(3) organization.

An independent Foundation board was appointed in February 2018 with PCSP members Jamie Kaukinen as President, Andrea Jordan as Secretary, Richard Frank as Treasurer and Steve Sadowsky as Director of Fundraising. The PCSP Foundation is required by law to produce an annual report summarizing all donations, expenses and disbursements. This report is required to be posted on an IRS website as well as presented at the Annual Business Meeting of the PCSP.
